Yokohama Dance Collection R was launched as a contemporary dance festival in 1996 and is being held for the fourteenth time in 2009. With dance directors coming to Japan from many other lands for the festival, Yokohama Dance Collection R also functions as a contemporary dance market, connecting choreographers and directors from outside Japan.
