Ito Kaori(Compagnie Himé) “Dears”

Photo:Anaïs_Baseilhac

This is the domestic premiere of “Dears” by Ito Kaori, a Japanese dancer based in Europe. This piece was created to be a unison of letters each written by dancers to loved ones who have passed away. Dancers with unique traits seem to hover around like spirits as if trying to catch things that have disappeared. It is a dance to talk with and say goodbye to the deceased, and forgive the living. How do we view the invisible? Powerful performances by individual dancers meld into a single letter, a single voice, and become a person, a speaker about the invisible. By means of dance, they use strong expression to overcome the sadness of loss while proving their own existence.
