Anna’s life in dance began when she was very young; wanting to go to a nearby ballet school, she improvised a dance in front of her mother and sister. As a young girl, she loved listening to records of classical music at home. She grew up recording the music she selected on cassette tapes, creating her own “musical suites,” and imagining dance scenes with them. She began studying classical ballet at the age of 11. She later studied various other types of dance, including modern dance, break dance, jazz dance, theater dance, and improvisation, in Osaka and New York. She has made the Kanto region her base since 1999. She has received many awards, in Japan and overseas. She founded 〈Studio Dansage〉 in Aizumi-cho, Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, in 2007, where she offers training in dance, mat Pilates, MasterStretch, and related fields. She is currently training for Level 1 of the Franklin Method.

    TOKYO ELECTROCK STAIRS
This next-generation dance company creates an everyday yet wondrous world through effective use of a rich array of variations based on pure dance and original music. Its name incorporates the implication that the company works in Tokyo, Japan, and its aspirations, the dreams and beliefs it aims to achieve. Launched at a performance of “Peacing in the Snow” at the Kichijoji Theater in December of 2008, the company has presented eight long and two short pieces at its annual independent performances. It has been the recipient of many invitations to perform overseas; its performance at the Contemporary Dance Showcase in New York in January of 2013 was praised in the New York Times. Acting on its motto, 『To touch your heart and break through it,』 it plunges on to infuse dance with whimsical ideas.
