International Dance Film Festival 2018-2019 ‘Lingering Bodies.’
The International Dance Film Festival has been organised by Dance Media Japan since 2003, to showcase dance on film and video. In 2019, a screening will be held on the 2 nd and 3 rd of March at Tokyo’s Spiral Hall, in collaboration with Tokyo Zokei University's Film & Moving Image course.
Tokyo Zokei University has recently established Japan's first ever "video dance" course. One of only a few such courses in the world, the art college’s Film Department will specialise in dance and the body, thus expanding the sphere of film and dance.
For the 2019 International Dance Film Festival, there will be video exhibitions, workshops, and a round table discussion on how to document images at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse No.1, in collaboration with the Tokyo Zokei University Film & Moving Image, Dance and Media Japan and the NPO Dance Archive Network.
