Urashima Yuna
Born in 1998. From Fukui Prefecture. Urashima started classical ballet at the age of 3, studying under Tsubota Ritsuko. She enrolled in the Dance Studies program at Japan Women’s College of Physical Education in 2017, later joining the Iwabuchi Takiko lab, specializing in dance research. She first came across contemporary dance and modern dance during her college years, learning under Kihara Kota and Kato Miyako. Awarded 1st place in the Senior Ensemble category at the 8th Zama National Dance Competition and 1st place in the Ensemble category at the 17th National Dance Competition in Sendai, among other accolades. Also appeared in works by Suzuki Takuro and 2.5-dimensional stage productions. Selected for SAI DANCE FESTIVAL 2023, with plans to perform her choreographed piece in South Korea in November, 2023.
Onishi Yuria
Onishi began dancing under the guidance of her mother, Onishi Shara Mariko, specializing in theatre jazz dance from the age of 3. After enrolling in the Western Dance program at Nihon University College of Art, she encountered contemporary dance, sparking her interest in improvisational movement and creative work. Currently, she is actively pursuing a career as a dancer and engaging in creative activities while exploring the intersection of entertainment and dance performances.
Okada Yumi
Born in Tokyo, Okada began studying classical ballet from a young age and discovered creative dance during middle school. She graduated from the Nihon University College of Art and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Intermedia Art at the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts. She creates works based on the discomforts of daily life and attempts to bring out words embedded in the body.
Ogasawara Miyu
Learning and practicing classical ballet from the age of 5 to 21 and contemporary dance since she was 18, Ogasawara studied under Iwabuchi Takiko and Matsuzawa Yoshinobu at the Japan Women’s College of Physical Education, majoring in dance. She has appeared in various performances, including Iwabuchi Teita’s “Shoko (Dawn),” an ensemble of the “Bungo Stray Dogs on Stage Hashigaki” and CHAiroiPLIN’s “The Threepenny Opera” and “In the Forest, Under Cherries in Full Bloom.”
Kashima Riena
From Yokohama. Kashima started practicing classical ballet at the age of 5 and later discovered contemporary dance. During her high school years, she found joy in contemplating the body and engaging in creative activities. Currently, she is actively involved in a wide range of projects, including workshops, performing in productions, and choreographing her own works. She is a DaBY Residence dancer and was a member of the Architanz Training Program (ATP) from 2020. Since 2022, she has been part of the Japan Contemporary Dance Company under the leadership of Paul Julius.
Suzuki Rion
From Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Hat designer. Suzuki began studying modern ballet at the age of 3 under the guidance of Sato Noriko. After moving to Tokyo, she studied modern dance and contemporary dance under Kato Miyako and Kihara Kota. Graduate of the Japan Women’s College of Physical Education with a major in dance studies. She has appeared in works by various choreographers, including Terasoma Aya, MWMW, and Asakawa Kanae. She is currently expanding her activities to include original works, choreographing music videos, and teaching dance.
Sengoku Kotaro
Born in 1998 and hailing from Aichi Prefecture, Sengoku graduated from Shigakkan University, studying modern dance from a young age under the guidance of Sekiyama Mikio. Currently a member of the <Sekiyama Mikio Dance Company>. He has received numerous awards at competitions such as the Akita National Dance Festival. At the SAI DANCE FESTIVAL 2022, he won the first prize in the solo category. Besides dance performances, he has also appeared in music videos, operas, and worked as an assistant choreographer for musicals, expanding his scope of activities. Since 2021, he has been a member of the <Tarinof Dance Company>. Focusing on the difference between a functional body and a dance body, he explores unique expressions while creating original works.
Takahashi Haruka
Born in Tokyo in 2002, Takahashi has been in love with dance since she was a child, dancing around with spaghetti on her head. She began taking it seriously in the Creative Dance Club at Fujimi High School. She came across contemporary dance for the first time as a freshman in University and appeared in works by asamicro and Tamura Koichiro.
Hirata Shiori
Hailing from Aichi Prefecture, Hirata began modern dance at the age of 8 at a local studio under the guidance of Ishihara Hiroe. During high school and university, she was part of the dance club where she explored various genres including contemporary, jazz, and hip-hop. She has participated in competitions and has received awards. Until now, she has performed on various stages, appeared in music videos, and worked as an assistant in outreach activities. She prioritizes expressive abilities through quick movements, body language, and facial expressions while constantly expanding her range of motion.
Watanabe Asuka
Born in 1999 in Osaka, Watanabe graduated from Mukogawa Women’s University. She started learning ballet and theme park dance at the age of 16, joining the dance club in University where she was first introduced to contemporary dance, choreography, and improvisational expression. She has presented original works seven times so far. Currently, she performs, choreographs and teaches, while actively seeking ways to create spaces for physical expression in her local community.
