OPEN CALL FOR CHOREOGRAPHY COMPETITION

Yokohama Dance Collection is the annual contemporary dance festival in Yokohama.
Since its inception in 1996, it has played a vital role in connecting many people involved in dance and other performing arts through various dialogue programs, performances, and open-call competitions. Building on its experience, the festival continues to explore the possibilities of expression through experimentation and further development.

One of the pillars of this festival is the competition, which has so far selected approximately 500 choreographers as finalists. These finalists continue to engage with society, their bodies, and their expressions, and even now continue to develop their work in a variety of directions, both at home and abroad.
This competition is a place for choreographers, dancers, and other artists to pursue composition, direction, and technique in dance, and to challenge themselves to new possibilities of artistic expression. It is also a platform where participants meet, inspire each other, and cultivate connections. We hope that new perspectives and expressions will emerge from the interaction of diverse individuals. We sincerely look forward to your application to the 32nd Yokohama Dance Collection Competition.
